James Pierog is the Co-Founder and CEO of Glimpse, a Bitcoin-native forecasting market where users earn Bitcoin by making accurate forecasts on financial assets.

Can you tell us about yourself and what brought you to this point in your career?

I’ve always been fascinated by how markets process information. Every day millions of people form opinions about where prices are heading, yet most of those views disappear into social media posts, research notes or private conversations. I became interested in whether markets themselves could do a better job of aggregating those opinions into something genuinely useful.

That led to Glimpse. We set out to build a forecasting market that rewards people for being accurate, not simply for being confident. Instead of another platform focused solely on buying and selling assets, we wanted to create one where people can express market conviction, build a measurable forecasting track record and earn Bitcoin for getting it right.

What problem or opportunity are you most focused on right now?

Markets generate an extraordinary amount of information, but very little of it is organised into a clear picture of what participants collectively expect to happen next.

We think forecasting markets can change that. Every trade contains information. When aggregated correctly, those individual views create a live probability distribution that reflects market expectations in real time.

Our immediate focus is building the best experience for traders while proving that forecasting markets can become an entirely new layer of financial infrastructure. Today that starts with Bitcoin, but the opportunity extends to other digital assets, commodities and financial markets over time.

What do you think deserves more attention than it is getting in your part of the industry?

I think we’ve spent too long treating markets simply as places to execute trades, rather than as mechanisms for generating information.

Financial markets don’t just allocate capital; they aggregate knowledge. Forecasting markets make that knowledge visible. Rather than relying on the loudest voice on social media or a single analyst’s opinion, participants can observe a transparent, continuously updated view of where the market collectively believes prices are heading.

I think that information layer has enormous potential, both for traders and for institutions looking to better understand market expectations.

What do you think people still misunderstand about your part of the industry?

Many people hear the term prediction market and immediately think of politics or betting on current events, which platforms like Kalshi and Polymarket allow you to do.

That’s not what we’re building. Glimpse is purpose-built for financial markets. The goal is creating better market intelligence, not entertainment. Participants are rewarded for accurately forecasting where assets like Bitcoin, Ethereum or gold are likely to trade, while every forecast contributes to a live picture of market expectations.

There’s an important distinction between speculation for its own sake and building a market that helps participants make better-informed decisions.

What do you expect to rise up the agenda over the next year?

I think we’ll see a shift away from simply giving people more market data towards helping them interpret it.

AI will play an important role, but high-quality inputs will matter even more. Markets that capture genuine conviction through financial incentives have the potential to become valuable sources of information for traders, institutions and researchers alike.

At the same time, I expect Bitcoin-native financial products to continue maturing. As adoption grows, we’ll see more platforms designed around earning, saving and interacting in Bitcoin, rather than treating it as just another asset to trade. We think forecasting markets will become an important part of that evolution.
