Naser Taher, founder and executive chairman of MultiBank Group, has been list, ranked 65th. Taher was separately recognised this year with the Golden Excellence Award for FinTech, Digital Asset and Blockchain Excellence at the 9th Golden Excellence Awards, presented in Dubai by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Cabinet Member and Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence.

Forbes’ own profile of Taher cites MultiBank‘s average daily trading volumes exceeding $35 billion, a record single-day trading volume of $55.8 billion in April 2025, and the launch of the $MBG utility token to major global exchanges in July 2025 among the achievements behind his ranking.
Who Taher is, beyond MultiBank
MultiBank’s own announcement of the two recognitions doesn’t mention Taher’s career before founding the company. Before establishing MultiBank Group in Los Angeles in 2005, Taher held roles at BNP Paribas, Barclays, UBS, Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse across a career now spanning 36 years.
His earlier background is unusually varied for a finance executive: he oversaw construction of a six-lane highway from Jordan to Iraq, managed a fleet of 23 ships, founded the first private airline company in Eastern Europe during the 1990s, and played a role in Ireland’s largest banking syndicate. He also previously worked on development projects at the Irish Stock Exchange and held financial and advisory roles connected to organisations and government entities in China.
MultiBank has since relocated its headquarters to Dubai, while maintaining regional centres in the US, Australia, China, Cyprus and Germany. The group reports paid-up capital exceeding $322 million and licences from more than 18 financial regulators across five continents, including ASIC, CySEC and MAS among others, backed by a team of around 1,000 professionals across 25 global offices. Group revenue grew from $279.5 million in 2022 to $306.6 million in 2023, an increase of 10%, the most recent figures independently reported.
MultiBank’s move into digital assets
Alongside its core foreign exchange and derivatives business, MultiBank operates mb.io, a cryptocurrency exchange regulated by Dubai’s Virtual Assets Regulatory Authority (VARA), covering spot trading and real-world asset tokenisation. mb.io recently integrated Botim, the UAE messaging and payments app, to let UAE users fund mb.io trading accounts directly through Botim’s payment rails, part of a broader push to reduce the friction between fiat and crypto trading for retail users in the country.
