fintech.infrastructure.media

Fintech news for the people who build it, fund it and regulate it.

METHODOLOGY · HOW RECOGNITION IS DECIDED

How recognition is decided.

Fintechly runs a newsroom and a membership, side by side, with a wall between them. Editorial recognition is earned and decided by our editors on merit. Membership is a product you can pay for. This page explains exactly where that line sits, and how we keep it from moving.

THE ONE RULE

Membership buys a better profile, visibility and tools. It never buys a place on the Fintechly Index, the Fintechly 101, the Fintechly 47, or a Fintechly Award. Those are decided independently by editorial and cannot be purchased.

WHERE THE LINE SITS

Two sides of one wall.

EDITORIAL · RECOGNITION

Earned. Cannot be bought.

Decided by our editors on merit. Membership has no effect on any of it, and no sponsor sees or shapes it.

  • The Fintechly Index

An always-on, ranked index of the people building modern finance.

  • The Fintechly 47

The companies our newsroom rates as the ones to watch in private fintech.

  • The Fintechly 101

The hundred-and-one names our editors single out each cycle.

  • The Fintechly Awards

Editorial honours, judged independently and announced by the newsroom.

COMMERCIAL · MEMBERSHIP

Buys visibility & tools. Never recognition.

A product anyone can pay for. It improves how you appear and what you can do - it never moves a rank, a tier-label, or an award.

  • Claimed profiles

Take control of an editorial stub and decide what it says about you.

  • Free, Pro & Company tiers

Better profiles, analytics, a do-follow link and management tools.

  • Featured placement

Paid prominence in commercial slots, always labelled as such.

  • Member Voices

By-lined commentary from paying members - reviewed, never editorial.

UNDER THE HOOD

Three data sets we keep separate.

The wall is not just a promise - it is how the site is built. Three kinds of data, three different owners, and no path for one to overwrite another.

01

Editorial data

NEWSROOM ONLY

recognition · rank · tier-label

Who is on the Index and the 101, where they sit, and the label our editors give them. Set in the newsroom, on merit. No membership flow can touch it.

02

Commercial data

MEMBERSHIP

claimed · tier · verified · featured

Whether a profile is claimed, what plan it is on, and any paid prominence. Owned by the member and the membership system. It never reads or writes editorial data.

03

Derived data

CALCULATED, NEVER TYPED

movement · places-moved · counts · last-updated

The numbers nobody enters by hand. Computed from the editorial data above - this month against last month. There is no field to fake them in.

HOW THE INDEX MOVES

Arrows are maths, not opinion.

When you see a name move up or down the Index, no one typed that arrow. A journalist sets one thing only: the order, this cycle, on merit. The direction and the number of places moved are calculated - this month’s rank measured against last month’s snapshot.

That means a rise or a fall is a fact about the ranking, not a claim we can be lobbied into. There is no “up” field to set, and no membership action that changes it. The editor decides who sits where; the movement follows from that and nothing else.
