DMCC has partnered with Web3 marketing agency EAK Digital to launch the first BlockDown Dubai conference, bringing the blockchain and digital assets event series to the UAE as Dubai continues to attract companies working across Web3, artificial intelligence and digital finance.

The two-day event will take place at Uptown Dubai on 26 and 27 January 2027. Organisers expect between 2,000 and 3,000 attendees, including founders, investors, venture capital firms, blockchain protocols, financial institutions and global technology companies.

The Dubai edition expands the BlockDown franchise beyond Türkiye, where EAK Digital’s Istanbul Blockchain Week has grown into one of the country’s largest Web3 industry events.

The event will focus on digital assets, AI and tokenisation

The inaugural conference will be hosted at The Plaza, Uptown Dubai’s open-air venue.

Sessions will cover blockchain infrastructure, tokenisation, digital finance, artificial intelligence, Web3 gaming and venture capital. Organisers said the programme will examine how these technologies are increasingly being adopted across financial services and the wider economy.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said

Digital assets, artificial intelligence and blockchain infrastructure are moving into mainstream economic activity. The next phase of growth will depend on how these technologies integrate with capital markets, regulation and international trade.

He also said hosting BlockDown Dubai reflects DMCC’s efforts to connect founders, investors and institutions through its technology ecosystem.

Partnership follows growth in Dubai’s Web3 sector

The announcement comes as Dubai continues to attract blockchain and digital asset businesses seeking access to investors, regulatory frameworks and international markets.

According to DMCC, its business district is home to more than 800 Web3 companies. These operate within a wider technology community of more than 4,000 businesses and alongside over 26,000 companies across trade, finance and professional services.

That concentration has helped position DMCC as one of the region’s largest business ecosystems dedicated to blockchain and emerging technologies.

EAK Digital expands its flagship event into the UAE

For EAK Digital, Dubai represents the latest step in expanding its conference portfolio beyond Türkiye.

Erhan Korhaliller, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of EAK Digital, said the company built Istanbul Blockchain Week around combining networking opportunities with commercial outcomes rather than operating as a traditional conference.

He said Dubai’s position at the intersection of technology, investment and international business made it a natural location for the next edition of BlockDown, adding that the partnership with DMCC provides the platform to establish the event as a long-term regional brand.

Rather than replacing Istanbul Blockchain Week, BlockDown Dubai will expand the organiser’s international event calendar and target a broader audience across the Middle East and the global digital asset industry.

Dubai continues to attract global blockchain events

The launch of BlockDown Dubai adds another international blockchain conference to the UAE’s growing calendar of digital asset events.

Dubai has become an increasingly popular destination for blockchain companies, exchanges, venture capital firms and fintech businesses as regulators continue to develop frameworks covering digital assets, tokenisation and virtual assets.

BlockDown Dubai is expected to bring together participants from across blockchain protocols, digital asset firms, venture capital funds, technology companies and international brands when it opens in January 2027.
