Fintech news for the people who build it, fund it and regulate it.

NOMINATIONS OPEN CLOSES 30 SEP 2026 · PUBLISHED 31 OCT 2026

The Fintechly
47.

The annual editorial list of the forty-seven private fintech companies most worth knowing about right now — judged on what they are building, not on what they have already banked.

NOMINATE A COMPANY

Open to any private fintech, in any geography. Free and confidential. Self-nominations welcome.

A list a company
can’t buy its way
onto.

What it is

An independent editorial judgement, made fresh every year, about the companies the rest of the industry will be reacting to within twelve months.

What it isn’t

Not a fundraising league table, a fastest-growing list, a regional shortlist, or a paid placement. There are credible league tables for those things; this is not one of them.

What it rewards

Originality, technical depth, market consequence, trajectory and quality of execution. A pre-revenue infrastructure team can outscore a late-stage name that has only added users.

Five qualitative tests.

01

Originality

How new the idea is, and how clearly it answers a real problem.

02

Technical depth

How strong the underlying technology or operations are, and how hard they would be to copy.

03

Market consequence

Whether the rest of the industry is reacting to the work.

04

Trajectory

Direction and momentum, not just current size.

05

Quality of execution

Team, governance, capital efficiency and conduct.

Names to be announced ahead of judging. Any conflicts of interest are declared openly, and panellists step aside.
